EARLY 1900s TROUSERS
Costume Workshop (May - June 2021)
Project Brief
This unit addressed technique and skill in execution, designed to challenge and develop making skills and attention to detail. A practical unit running alongside extensive theoretical research into the history of trousers.
Working from a standard pattern draft, we employed flat pattern-making skills to create a historical trouser pattern. The final piece was made in calico with a button fly and pockets. We also made an additional sample zip front fly and fastening.
This unit was purely about technique, with no personal design element.
Project Length
A 5-week unit.
