19th CENTURY MORNING COAT
Historical Tailoring Unit (January - April 2022)

PROJECT BRIEF
Dedicated to the art of tailoring, this unit focused upon costume-making skills, as well as developing an understanding of the aesthetics and proportions of historical tailoring. This Victorian-period male single-breasted morning coat (circa 1860-1900) involved pattern drafting, tailoring and construction skills.
The wool fabric was mandatory. And there was no scope for personal design enhancements.
project length
A 10-week unit.
